Dems Add DISCLOSE Waivers For TV, Radio Ads
Source: Broadcasting & Cable

Democrats have modified the DISCLOSE Act (HR 5175.) to allow for hardship waivers of disclosure requirements for political ads on radio and TV.

That came in a manager's amendmendment on the bill, introduced at a House Administration Committee markup on the legislation Thursday (May 20).

The DISCLOSE Act, which is short for Democracy is Strengthened by casting Light On Spending In Elections, was a response to the Supreme Court's decision in Citizen's United case that a ban on direct corporate and union funding of political ads was unconstitutional.

1. Huh?
"..hardship waivers of disclosure requirements for political ads on radio and TV."

Since when are candidates facing hardship in campaign ads?

3. Well they will face the hardship of theft of free will if they decieve.
If a person says something untrue to get someone to pick something without information, they steal the ability of the person to make a free will choice.

in that way the person thinking they are doing good when doing bad is not at fault, and any fault from lack of information from stolen free will is put on the person stealing free will with deception.

So from that, they will face hardship if dishonest, so the concept in the article matches forms of justice. And adding responsiblity to a persons thoughts and actions.

Reading the post, the concept of having disclosure of sponsors on advertisements is important so that they can be responsible if they steal free will in the advertisements by deception or distortion. By having the sponsors on the advertisements in the ad people can then react with a better idea of sources when seeing good or bad actions based on their views of what should be.

He said that, for example, if a 10-second ad required a four-second disclaimer, they could apply for the exemption "so that the ad can get the message across other than the line of people who are saying it."

4. They can just put in a SHORTER disclaimer...right?
"The line of people who are saying it"??

OK.. So there'll a bunch of short, nasty ads, with every individual and their cousins signed onto it in order to qualify for the waiver, right?
