6.1 magnitude quake in Costa Rica: seismologists

AFP - A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Costa Rica in an area 74 kilometers (46 miles) southwest of the capital San Jose, seismologists said.

There were no immediate reports of damage.

But radio and television stations in San Jose said the quake was felt throughout the country, sowing fear in the population.

Seismologist Ronnie Quintero of the Vulcanologic and Seismologic Observatory of Costa Rica said the quake occurred about 25 kilometers from the port of Quepos, a region where there was a quake of similar magnitude May 20.

curiously, i tried to find related breaking news on the costarican papers online and did not find the news about this earthquake.

Wow. Lot's of places shaking today. Costa Rica is the biggest though, so far.
