Close? What is close? Rumsfeld on Saddam
Capitol Hill-AP

Defense chief Donald Rumsfeld and one of the military's top brass have met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

Rumsfeld and the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Marine General Peter Pace, delivered their briefing behind closed doors.

Afterward, Rumsfeld told reporters that troops are getting a lot of tips, suggestions, leads and thoughts from Iraqis. ---

Asked if the U-S is any closer to capturing Saddam Hussein, Rumsfeld said he's always fascinated by that question. He says, "How can you know if you're closer until you catch him? You can't know."

3. Rummy as Pontius Pilate?
Headline writer may get the Fox news Boot for this one. It very much seems to be a reference to Pontius Pilate's (in)famous rejoinder to Jesus when Jesus asks about truth:

"Truth? What is truth?" Pilate asks.

So now a headline writer has Rummy saying

"Close? What is close?"

Not a good sign for Rummy the Spinning Dummy....

6. Tariq Aziz introduces new business partners Iraq and USA.
Shame. Former Iraq Foreign Minister Aziz (back to camera) has now been forced to dig his own latrine in his confinement in post-invasion Iraq.

Is that any way to treat a former chum? If there was Justice, the guy who will be digging ditches for the rest of his life is shaking hands with Saddam Hussein, hired stooge for the Bush Organized Crime Family, Donald Rumsfeld.
