US to probe American death in Israeli raid
AFP
Published: Thursday June 3, 2010

The United States said Thursday it would probe the death of a Turkish-American killed in an Israeli raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla, but said the FBI were not involved "at this point."

"We will look into the circumstances of the death of an American citizen, as we would do anywhere in the world at all times," State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters.

Crowley declined to specify who is "evaluating the facts" surrounding the death of the dual US-Turkish national, whom he identified as Furkan Dogan, a 19-year-old born in Troy, New York.

"We have officials at a variety of levels here and in Israel," he said, adding they were in contact with Israeli officials and the family of the deceased.

1. shot 4 times in the head and once in the chest..
i wonder if he was still a threat to them after the first shot to the head??

i wonder if after the second shot to the head he was still charging them with a lawn chair?

i wonder if after the third shot to the head he was still considered a deadly threat?

i guess so.

2. I look at his picture
I see warm, kind eyes.

This is so sad.

His family will surely get more information from any Turkisk "evaluation of the facts" than from the US.

4. invwstigation pointless
the US supports Israel right or wrong so finding out if they were wrong here is pointless

Israel bars toys going to the children of gaza and we don't make a peep

they shoot an American four times in the head - we won't make a peep about that either

we may huff and puff - but it means nothing
