(Texas GOP Rep. Michael) Burgess to BP: We owe you no apology
Source: Dallas Morning News

Interesting difference this morning at the House hearing with BP's CEO.

Texas GOP Rep. Michael Burgess just told the CEO that he didn't feel he needed to apologize to BP. That was a clear reference to Texas GOP Rep. Joe Barton saying earlier today he wanted to apologize to BP for the "shakedown" at the White House that resulted in BP agreeing to contribute $20 billion to a compensation fund.

Burgess said he too had questions about the $20 billion, but said he felt no need to apologize to BP. After all, he said, 11 people lost their lives because of the way BP operated that rig. And, of course, the environmental damage has been horrendous.

1. Barton drew a very deep line in the sand.
I think sympathy for BP is a gamble that'll lose.

10. Michael Burgess is a rep for the 26th in texas...
and he is no liberal. and he's my rep (insert puke smiley)

I'm sure that most will back away from Barton's statement.

You can really trust him. uhhh...yea.
He is was also against health care reform. Being that he's a doctor, I feel confident he will do the right things regarding the oil problem too.
:sarcasm:

he supports drilling. it's pretty clear.
