Magic Power Coffee recall: FDA says instant coffee contains Viagra drug

Federal regulators have are warning consumers to stay away from Magic Power Coffee - a product apparently designed for men who not only want to have more sex but to be awake enough to enjoy it.

The instant coffee, marketed as a dietary supplement, contains a substance similar to sildenafil, the active ingredient in the prescription erectile dysfunction drug Viagra. Sildenafil can interact with nitrate-type medications commonly taken by patients with hypertension, causing dangerous drops in blood pressure.

"Because this product is an instant coffee labeled as an 'all natural dietary supplement,' consumers may assume its harmless and poses no health risk," said Deborah Autor, director of the FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research's compliance office. "In fact, Magic Power Coffee can cause serious harm."


Federal regulators this year have found many similar male enhancement products being marketed as supplements when they in fact contain ingredients reserved for use in prescription drugs, a violation of law.

Yeah, ya caught me. I watched it. But, did a "reality" shoe totally fake an episode based on this product?

(Supposedly, Mrs. Bruce Jenner was adding Viagra to his morning coffee every day, but her son grabbed the wrong cup from the counter one morning and ended up in the Emergency Room.

In hindsight, the camera was doing very tight close ups on the cups in order to show the viewer the mix up--but no one in the crew warned the kid before he downed the coffee?
