Much of Thursday's argument revolved around examinations of Halabi's computer hard drive and Web sites. Government attorneys want to expand their searches, hinting at suspicions that Halabi could have "dumped" sensitive information at a remote site that could have been accessed by a second party.
They also contend he may have tampered with a personal Web site while in custody.
But defense attorney's asked Brand to stop further computer searches, saying that government investigators haven't found probable cause to back up their suspicions.

A naturalized American born in Syria, Al Halabi, 25, was arrested last July at Jacksonville Naval Air Station in Florida at the start of a leave, when he was heading to Syria to get married. He was arraigned in January and has not yet entered a plea.
