The Portland Police Bureau did not recommend prosecution "due to a lack of credible evidence," according to the Multnomah County district attorney's office.

"After evaluating the materials submitted by PPB I have concluded that I agree with the assessment that a sustainable criminal case does not exist," Senior Deputy District Attorney Don Rees wrote in a memo Friday. "Ms. Hagerty's detailed statement ... is insufficient to support a criminal charge given other contradictory evidence, conflicting witness statements, credibility issues, lack of forensic evidence and denials by Mr. Gore."

Gore's office in Nashville, Tennessee, released a statement saying the former vice president was pleased with the finding.

"Mr. Gore unequivocally and emphatically denied this accusation when he first learned of its existence three years ago," the statement reads. "He respects and appreciates the thorough and professional work of the Portland authorities and is pleased that this matter has now been resolved."

2. And they didn't add that she habitually files law suits against
high ranking individuals with no credible evidence. How in the world someone hasn't sued her is beyond me. And look at Gloria Allred jumping right in without checking into the background of this nut. One police official said they believed she had a mental problem. But the thing is his reputation is ruined anyway with this baseless accusation.

22. I don't think his reputation is ruined.
The people who were looking to hate him will just have more "reason." The rest of the people kinda figured it was bogus from the get go.

It is unfortunate, but part of this is Mr. Gores fault. Someone of his status should not be having private massages in his hotel room. Go to spa, have a witness if necessary. Make sure the massuse had been vetted. It's a hard lesson, but hopefully he's learned something from it. He's usually a smart guy.

6. Right wing nuts love their character assassination crap. And of course they
were hoping to keep people distracted. And more importantly to
discredit all he has said about global climate change with a
phony sex charge.

...before they have the truth strikes again. I thought this part was great:

"Ms. Hagerty's detailed statement ... is insufficient to support a criminal charge given other contradictory evidence, conflicting witness statements, credibility issues, lack of forensic evidence and denials by Mr. Gore."

I am very happy for our former Vice President. :patriot:

15. Prosecutors will not pursue criminal case against Gore in alleged sex abuse of massage therapist
Source: The Oregonian

Prosecutors said today they will not pursue a criminal case against former Vice President Al Gore for allegedly groping a Portland massage therapist in 2006, citing a "lack of credible evidence."

The decision, announced this afternoon by the Multnomah County District Attorney's office, comes a month after Portland Police reopened an investigation into the allegations by Molly Hagerty, 54.

Hagerty had accused Gore of groping her, kissing her, and making other unwanted sexual advances during a late-night massage at the Hotel Lucia in October 2006. She said she told two friends about the alleged assault, which occurred while Gore was in Portland to deliver a speech on climate change.

In a memo to District Attorney Michael Schrunk, Senior Deputy District Attorney Don Rees said he recommended against pursuing the case for several reasons:

16. I figured the PTB were worried he might make a run in 2012 and were cutting him off at the pass...
Edited on Fri Jul-30-10 09:36 PM by KoKo
Whole thing seemed strange but after the "Enquirer" managed to Bag John Edwards...many figured that Al Gore had gone off the path, too. Especially after the announcement about their Marriage on hiatus.

It's probably all orchestrated, anyway. Feed one good story to the "Enquirer" and the sheep will believe the next one that turns out to be fiction. BUT....it's all MANAGED...so "Buyer, BEWARE!"

ran for political office again. All these people have to do is say a lie then that lie comes the truth. I never believed this!
