Police: Body of 9-Year-Old Pa. Girl Stolen From Grave

Authorities in Lancaster, Pa., are trying to determine who unearthed and stole the body of 9-year-old Paula Ream from the cemetery plot where she was buried nearly 48 years ago.

"It is bad enough to grieve when you lose somebody you love -- you think they are in God's hands now, and they are in heaven now -- and then something like this happens," Paula's sister, Fay Hamm, 71, told AOL News in a phone interview.

"You can't imagine the pain," Hamm said, speaking through a stream of tears.

Police said the unknown thief or thieves stole Paula's body and casket from the Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery sometime between 4 p.m. Thursday and 12:55 p.m. Friday, which was Friday the 13th.
