No tears for any of the Taliban or Al Qaeda.

I hope he is in serious pain.

http://www.haaretzdaily.com/

Go to the drop down in the top middle of the page. It is the 4th item. There is no confirmation anywhere else.

9. You got that right ....
Mullah Omar is a vicious theocrat who thought his beliefs were more important than precious, priceless and irreplacable art ...

Hell: .... he thinks his beliefs are more important than ANY individual freedom ....

I have no sympathy at all ...

15. Omar's other offense
Omar is also much-deserving an airstrike on his head for hosting al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan.

5. This is a crank website
It reports bizarre stories that other papers never pick up. Last month they said bin Laden had been captured.

6. It is not a crank website
95% of their stories are accurate. Yes, they do pick up some stories from the Iranian press, but they also retract them.

They never said "bin Laden had been captured", only the report that the other Iranian papers were saying that. They also printed that retraction from the Iranian paper

10. Actually, it's Conrad Black's rag.
Black is, like Rupert Murdoch, a neocon propagandist. He's Canadian by birth and a British citizen, and he owns a bunch of papers including the Jerusalem Post, the Daily Telegraph in England, the Chicago Sun-Times, and Canada's National Post.

11. Richard Perle ...
From : ... http://www.disinfopedia.org/wiki.phtml?title=Richard_N._Perle

Richard N. Perle

Long-time Washington cold warrior Richard N. Perle is a man of many hats: Pentagon policy adviser (resigned February 2004), former Likud policy adviser, media manager, international investor, op-ed writer, talk show guest, think tank expert and ardent supporter of the war in Iraq. Known in Washington circles as "The Prince of Darkness," Perle is associated with the American Enterprise Institute and the Project for the New American Century, both of which have been prominent behind-the-scenes architects of the Bush administration's foreign policy, in particular its push for war with Iraq. He is closely allied with Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Dundes Wolfowitz, another Iraq hawk. Perle is also a vocal supporter of Israel and a critic of Saudi Arabia. Perle is on the Advisory Board of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA), and is a former chairman of the Defense Policy Board, a Defense Department advisory group composed primarily of former government officials, retired military officers, and academics.

-snip-

Perle has close business ties with Conrad Black, former chairman of Hollinger International Inc., which owns more than 400 daily and weekly newspapers in Canada, the United States, Britain, Israel and Australia. Hollinger papers include London's Daily Telegraph, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Sydney Morning Herald and the Jerusalem Post. Perle uses these papers and others to trumpet his anti-Saddam sentiments and to tangle with political figures, such as British Minister Clare Short, who opposes the Perle line on Iraq. Black, a Canadian, recently joined fellow media kingpin Rupert Murdoch in defending British Prime Minister Tony Blair's decision to stick with Bush's war aims, despite overwhelming domestic opposition.

Perle is a top executive of Hollinger Digital Inc., which is the media management and investment arm of Hollinger <2><3>. Perle is listed on various corporate boards through his association with Hollinger. Whether or not Perle speaks for Bush, the president's recent reasoning on Iraq follows a pattern found in Perle's writings, particularly in a lengthy piece for Israel Insider, which uses numerous non-sequiters in its emotionally-charged connection of Saddam to terrorist activity.<4>

Nuff Said ....

13. Haaretz crank?
Edited on Mon Mar-29-04 04:36 AM by ze_dscherman
Nah, usually it's a pretty reliable source. Reputed Israeli newspaper, and definitely not to be compared with Likud/PNAC rags like Jerusalem Post.

The story comes from German news agency DPA, usually a reliable source as well. As well, it has been picked up by other magazines.

Nevertheless, this still could be disinformation or just a rumour gone wild.

12. If the far right has their way, we will eventually have our own like him
Extreme fundamentalist religious fanatics around the world aren't that different in beliefs, just in what they are allowed to get away with.

17. Too bad AWOL is still at large
So we're bombing irrelevant ex-heads of state instead of the real
criminals in the white house.

Omar is OUR CIA buddy, perhaps we should bomb his trainers
in langly, and the ISI to destroy the chain of terrorism... naaah
nobody really wants to stop terrorism, just non-american terrorism.
