U.S. Soldier Killed in Bomb Attack in Iraq




BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A U.S. soldier was killed on Monday when a bomb was detonated beside a military convoy near the flashpoint town of Falluja west of Baghdad, the U.S. army said.





A spokesman said the attack happened around 18 km (11 miles) from Falluja, a volatile town in the "Sunni triangle" where much of the resistance to the U.S.-led occupation has been concentrated.


The attack brought to 401 the number of U.S. soldiers killed in hostile action in Iraq (news - web sites) since the U.S.-led invasion on April 20 last year.

I actually counted, and they mentioned it at the end of a report on how Sanchez and Bremer were reporting how things were getting better in Iraq. Sickening. Hey, if things are so much better, why did ANOTHER SOLDIER GET KILLED TODAY?!?!
