Chase's online bank service still facing problems
Source: Associated Press

(As of 8:25 pm eastern time)

NEW YORK — Chase's online banking service was still having problems for much of Wednesday, extending an outage that has lasted for two days and affected millions of customers.
In the longest outage the bank has experienced, Chase's online service went down around 8pm EST Monday and was down all day Tuesday. Its service for mobile phones was also down, but Chase's network of ATMs and telephone banking services were functioning normally.
Chase, which is the second-largest U.S. bank, said the problem had been fixed early Wednesday. However, people who tried to log in could not get into the site and Chase acknowledged that problems were persisting.

2. This is what you get
for depending on anything but a credit union or a local community bank. Had a customer today who tried to pay a bill with his Chase account, and couldn't. Good thing he had a debit card attached to the account, or we wouldn't have gotten a payment through.

5. No problem with Chase on line here
I was at Chase on line at 5:30 this morning, no problem, my money was put into my account and did not have any problem throughout the day.

I'm using Firefox on a Mac. My friend had problems today who has a PC and windows. His is not working or just very very slow. He just got into his account but took a while.

4. Chase via my Computer = NO / Via iOS app, works fine!
So the problem is in their web front end, not the backend. That's why you have change control and backout procedures.

10. Change control and back-out procedures ...
Exactly right, my friend! They should have been able to fall back in minutes if not seconds!

6. Chase should eat all the costs, and give 0 balance to everyone who owns a chase account.

9. Do you mean zero late charges on past-due payments?
Or are you saying poor people like me should have all of our dozens of dollars taken away because we live somewhere saturated with Chase banks and use them because they are convenient and can cash our paychecks without holds (or paying party store check cashing rates)?
