Poll: Conn. Senate race now too close to call
Source: Associated Press

A new poll shows that Democrat Richard Blumenthal's lead in Connecticut's U.S. Senate race over Republican Linda McMahon has evaporated to within the survey's margin of error.

The Quinnipiac (KWIHN'-uh-pee-ak) University poll released Tuesday shows Blumenthal, the state attorney general, with a 49 percent to 46 percent lead over McMahon, former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment.

The survey of 1,083 likely voters has a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Blumenthal's lead in the poll two weeks ago was 6 percentage points. In a different poll of registered voters in March, Blumenthal's lead was 33 points.

2. The change from a 6 point lead to a 3 point lead is within the margin of error.
There is no strong evidence that anything actually changed.

3. Same pollster who declared Gillibrand just ahead of her opponent, and Cuomo a handful of points
ahead of his.

Either they have the likely voters model of the year, or they are deeply wrong. We'll see.

9. They polled me about six months ago.
Half the questions were so slanted I couldn't answer them ("Do you still beat your wife?" type questions). It's hard to believe they have any credibility at all.

5. Mcmahon spends a lot of money saying nothing but "jobs" and her prop
in her new tv ad is an old antiquated looking lunch box...I'm serious!

This is what she expects Ct. to get excited about, jobs for people who will be paid so little they'll
need to take their lunch to work.

At this point, I say this poll is bullshit.

6. Though Q-polls are always suspect, I cannot believe
how close it has gotten. People are not really that smart nor do they remember the past.

13. She has tons of money, Richard does not.
20 years of fighting against corporate corruption and this is where it gets you, a statistical dead heat with a worker abusing, drug pushing carny. :(

14. Isn't Blumenthal the one who lied about having served in Vietnam?
Including when speaking to a group of vets?

Do you think his Republican opponenti's been hammering on that as she campaigns?

Do you think that might be having an impact on some voters?

15. He mispoke on one occasion.
She has been hammering that point in her damn junk mailers. She has nothing else. On economic matters, McMahon is a Tea Party candidate in the mold of Joe Miller.
Blumenthal does not have the cash to compete with this filthy carny!

17. Pesky facts
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/18/nyregion/18blumenthal.html

“We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam,” Mr. Blumenthal said to the group gathered in Norwalk in March 2008.

In 2003, he addressed a rally in Bridgeport, where about 100 military families gathered to express support for American troops overseas. “When we returned, we saw nothing like this,” Mr. Blumenthal said

But the way he speaks about his military service has led to confusion and frequent mischaracterizations of his biography in his home state newspapers. In at least eight newspaper articles published in Connecticut from 2003 to 2009, he is described as having served in Vietnam.

21. The detractors have done nothing of value for us in Connecticut.
On the other hand, Richard has done much good for us.
