Pentagon braces for WikiLeaks release of secret Iraq reports
Source: MSNBC

The Pentagon is reviewing its war database to prepare for potential fallout from WikiLeak's expected release of secret documents related to the Iraq war, according to NBC News.

The release could come as early as Sunday evening.

"The problem is we have no idea what WikiLeaks has or is going to release, so we're preparing for the worst," one senior Pentagon official told NBC News on Friday.

(snip)
Pentagon officials told NBC News they were scouring over 400,000 documents from Iraq they suspect could be what WikiLeaks plans to release next.

2. How do they "prepare"?
By getting their lies straight and setting up their spokes people on all the friendly Sunday "news" shows?

5. They prepare by protecting their sources who will be named

10. Step 1: Discredit wikieaks
You do know that making wikileaks "the bad guy" is part of the DoD plan for handling wikileaks, right?

After all, killing 100,000 people is no biggie for the US, but heaven forbid anybody find out the sources of information that led to their deaths!

14. His government declared him and the Iraqi's less than human...
He fought back with details about how the US is dehumanizing and killing the Iraqi's, Afghani's, etc.

As far as his methods go, he was a braggart and an idiot (IMHO), but he likely saved *vastly* more lives than he put at risk.

17. Who bradley "for the lulz" manning.
Edited on Sat Oct-16-10 07:59 AM by Pavulon
he did not save anything. He just dumped documents into the clear through his wiki buddies, will see if there is anything worth dying in federal custody an old and broken man is actually in the pile.

One of the wikileaks "directors" quit because he did not want to release unvetted information. The other friend turned him in when he realized what he had and did not want his ass thrown in in federal prison. Bradley's mom should have told him how to pick better friends.

Its a war, were still killing them along with others in pakistan, yemenm and beyond. Your "feelings" do not authorize you to disclose this information.

Hey remember that news story a while back about that guy who worked for mi-6, he was found stuffed in a duffel bad with his cell phones arranged in front of him. I wonder if that was house cleaning. These guys are playing in a space where people get killed for what they did.

edit clarity.

7. Lemme guess...
We'll finally get documentation and evidence that validates everything the
Progressives have been saying about Iraq?

I heard Condi Rice on some talk show this morning, talking about how she would
have done things differently, and oh how she wished the intelligence would
have been better...and sure there are things she wishes she could change.

I'll bet...

8. "I think it was called 'Bin Laden determined to strike inside the US'."
Remember that gem from her testimony? Playing remorseful revisionist won't help her in history's eyes.

18. One of 700 idiots....

700 Idiots

It's about time.

Buy It

Try It

EVERYWHERE (Rixstep) — Over 700 idiots from the 'Yesterday Media™' have been escalating their hysteria over the past few days, screaming about an imminent release of WikiLeaks documents. Of course it's been silly (and more so). Yesterday evening Twitter turned into a bit of a Sotheby's with some media sites claiming there'd be as many as 500,000 documents released.

But there were no sources. None. Unless one counts Kevin Poulsen. And that's just too much of a leap of foolishness. Merely searching for '400,000' at Google News turns up over 700 hits.
Short List

Here's a short list of the more prominent idiots who hopped on the bandwagon on the basis of a single source of highly dubious value.

Telegraph, Washington Post, CBC, CNN, The Register, Economic Times, Xinhua, Radio Free Europe, Radio Liberty, Canadian Press, IBNLive, Chosum Ilbo, Talk Radio News Service, GroundReport, The Week, Daily Rosetta, AlterNet, Metro, New Delhi Chronicle, Firedoglake, Secrecy News, Press TV, Federal News Radio, Journalism.co.uk, The Drum, ComputerWeekly, NewsTime, ShortNews.com, Newsi.es, Neon Tommy, Indie Pro Pub, UPI.com, Radio New Zealand, BBC News, First Amendment Center, The Australian, Reuters, PC Magazine, Scottish Daily Record, Oneindia, CNN International, New York Times, ABC Online, CBS News, NPR, Bloomberg, Huffington Post, The Press Association, Associated Press, NEWS.com.au, USA Today, Washington Times, SmartCompany.com.au, The Hill, Gather, MyFox Philadelphia, Newser, Seer Press, Third Age, DigitalJournal.com, Malaysia Sun, Inventorspot, Only Kent, RebOrbit, Pakistan News, Antiwar.com, Mashable, AOL News, Gawker, Media Post Publications, AllVoices, Editors Weblog, Comtex Smartrend, IT Pro Portal, Democracy Now, THINQ.co.uk, TechEye, Raw Story, MSNBC.com, Jerusalem Post, PhysOrg,com, Digital Media Wire, Boing Boing, TechRadar UK.

Second source, journalists? The warmongering pinheads in that five-sided building even went into Panic Mode™.
