Hillary Clinton Says She Won’t Run Again for Elective Office
Source: Bloomberg

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said today she won’t run again for elective office, ruling out a future presidential bid.

“I am very happy doing what I’m doing and I am not in any way interested in or pursuing anything in elective office,” the 63-year-old former First Lady said on the “Fox News Sunday” program.

Clinton’s political aspirations have been a frequent topic of speculation since she lost the Democratic presidential nomination to President Barack Obama in 2008 and then agreed to become his secretary of state.

As recently as last month, Clinton dismissed speculation prompted by a book written by journalist Bob Woodward that she would replace Vice President Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket with Obama in 2012.

3. This is just to counter anyone who puts her down in this thread.
I think that she is doing a wonderful job, and I respect her more now than I did before she took this position.

I did not support Hillary Clinton as a candidate, but I'd be more likely to do so now. (I'm not saying that I would choose her over President Obama. My point is not to put down President Obama; it's to praise Hillary Clinton.)

I'm glad that she found her niche.

4. I have nothing but praise for the job she's doing
She's finally working at her appropriate level. Unfortunately, in our world, First Ladies are often expected to be seen not heard. We have another highly intelligent and politically savvy in there now. It's hard to watch the less than she can do things she must do. She does them well, but they are beneath her pay grade.

14. What complete unmitigated nonsense
Edited on Mon Nov-22-10 12:11 PM by Recursion
Does it feel good to shit on people who have accomplished more to help the poor and defenseless here and abroad than any of us ever will?

Half of what you listed never happened, and the other half was Bill Clinton trying to end the pattern of liberals defeating ourselves.

17. Talk about nonsense! CLINTON did MORE to harm poor people than any other Democrat!
I realize that it doesn't matter to those who are not affected, but that doesn't change the reality... CLINTON hurt poor women and children, and has absolutely NO remorse for the harm he did.

Nor, apparently, do his die-hard supporters.

So, go ahead and attack. We have become used to it.

10. Oh, clearly!
'Cause everyone knows she is encouraging all of those "PUMAS" out there in order to run against the president in 2012! ....NOT!.... she has infinitely more integrity than that, and will/has shown that time and time again.

25. Shocker. Not.
I still contend she did not really want to run in 2008, and got dragged into the fray through the same machinations some other candidates did.
