Former Gov. Admits To Marijuana Use
Gary Johnson Used Marijuana To Recover From Crash
POSTED: 8:18 am MST December 7, 2010
UPDATED: 8:50 am MST December 7, 2010

SANTA FE, N.M. -- Former Gov. Gary Johnson admitted that he smoked marijuana for medical purposes while it was still illegal in New Mexico.

Johnson has been an advocate for both medical marijuana and the legalization of marijuana.

The former governor said he used the drug after suffering a painful paragliding accident in 2005. Johnson fractured several bones in the crash.

"It was illegal. Medical marijuana was not something that was allowed in New Mexico at the time," Johnson said. "I didn't want to be using painkillers, and somebody offered the marijuana as a way to ease the pain I was experiencing."

1. The article doesn't give his party affiliation, because he's a Republican.

3. I used to smoke it FOR FUN. I think it should be legal everywhere.
I think arresting people for speaking the truth should be illegal.

2. I confess. I smoked marijuana for recreational purposes
for several years back in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Guess I won't be governor.

He is one republicon who did not do the lie thing 24/7...

Unlike your average RepubliCrony, no sneaking around for adulterous wide-stance diaper sex in public craphouses with luggage-handling, bong-huffing rentboy faux lesbian male B & D hooker eXXXcorts for him.

8. He is a true Libertarian
More so than even Ron Paul. Word is he's running for President in 2012.

11. Given that the President in 2013 is unlikely to be a Democrat
I'd take a Libertarian over a Republican ANY day. You want to see some real change, boy would we get it then. Maybe not all in the direction we'd like, but I bet there would be some good points (stopping the war machine and police state being two biggies).
