Barbara Boxer defends her support of tax-cut package

As other liberals lambaste the tax-cut measure, which could be approved by the Senate and go to the House by Tuesday night, Boxer says it 'will be a help to the middle class.'

Though many of her fellow liberals oppose the tax-cut deal negotiated between President Obama and congressional Republicans, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) on Tuesday defended her support of the measure.

"The fact is, this bill will be a help to the middle class,'' said Boxer, who, during George W. Bush's presidency, assailed the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts as skewed toward the wealthy. She and fellow California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein backed the $858-billion package now before the Senate, even though it would renew the tax rates to all income levels, including the highest earners.

4. It figures
I called both their offices yesterday and was told they hadn't decided how to vote yet. Should have known. Especially DiFi who stands to reap big bucks with her war profiteer husband. And now Boxer caves too.

5. Obama has simply put GOP blackmail of nation in place ...
Franken and Boxer will both go along with it --

it's just more of an immediate "lesser evil" --

Americans are being forced to sell off their future -- and the futures

of their children.

14. She was on MSNBC last week saying what a terrible deal to give Millionaires a break...
She was excellent. I can't believe she caved on that. And, last weekend, Franken, Whitehouse,Schumer, Serrod Brown and two others were giving a angry press conference where each took turns speaking saying they would fight this give away to the rich if they had to stay through New Years. What Happened? Was it the extra stuff that was thrown into the bill like the reduction in FICA tax that swayed them? But, the give away for that was the Estate Tax getting a big break. Makes no sense that from one week to the next they cave like this.

... down the road.

This is a band-aid for a huge gapping wound.

Besides, letting taxes go back to TWENTIETH CENTURY rates is a tax cut!

America is in a "living paycheck to paycheck" mode. Even the government.

13. Barbara Boxer - Dishonest & Deceitful "Liberal"
Edited on Tue Dec-14-10 03:50 PM by WizardLeft62
Barbara Boxer is a most Dishonest & Deceitful "Liberal"

Boxer chided her corporatist opponent Carly Fiorina and rightly so, during the campaign over the past several months, but, then votes as her (Boxer) California challenger (Fiorina) for the U.S. Senate would have.

Boxer is less than honest here and I totally reject any/all of her rationalizations.

I hope Boxer does not consider herself to be a "liberal" or "Democrat" any longer.

publish contact info? I want to email or fax Boxer and tell her I will never vote for her again.
