6 killed in tornado outbreak in Midwest, South

By JILL ZEMAN BLEED

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Chris Sisemore kept his eyes open as a rare but deadly winter tornado plucked him from his rural Arkansas home and flung him across the street.

"I wanted to see the end coming. You're only going to see it one time and I thought that was it," he said, hours after surviving the twister. "It takes more than a tornado to get me."

At least six people were killed and dozens injured as tornadoes fueled by unusually warm air pummeled the South and Midwest on Friday.

Three people died in the northwestern Arkansas hamlet of Cincinnati when a tornado touched down just before sunrise, and three others died when a storm spawned by the same weather system ripped up the Missouri countryside near Rolla. Later Friday, storms knocked out power to thousands and damaged some property in Mississippi, where a tornado watch was in effect for some areas until 6 a.m. Saturday.

3. Stupid is as stupid does - "Forest Gump"
Anyone, stupid enough to expose themselves to a tornado, lucky enough to be tossed but not killed and then to brag about it, needs adult supervision. Here is positive proof that tornadoes do not discriminate by IQ.

4. Do we just attack everyone automatically these days? He did not expose himself to a tornado
deliberately. You won't find anwhere in the article where it says that.

In fact in another article I read, he was trying to hang in while in his home and the tornado sucked him out feet first.

If anything, I thought he was pretty brave keeping his eyes open. He thought he was going to die.

7. Tornado stories in the news have always been an opportunity here
for people to let their inner snobs run free, what with all the jokes about trailers and rednecks and such.

Poor people are funny!! Hee hee!!

8. Since I lost my home to a tornado, I have no sense of humor about them.
Hurricanes spawn tornadoes.
You can't see tornadoes during hurricane force winds.
At night.
Was not much fun finding another house, trying to work 12 hours a day at a job, driving 80 miles round trip to stay with a friend, etc.
Causes PTSD, btw. Every time the wind blows or a storm comes in, one tends to get VERY hyper vigilant.
