Official: President Obama to sign 9/11 health bill Sunday
Source: CNN

President Obama plans to sign the 9/11 health bill into law in Hawaii on Sunday, a senior administration official told CNN.

Obama will sign the bill during his Hawaiian vacation, the official said. There will not be a public signing ceremony, but the White House is planning to release an official photo of Obama signing the bill.

The legislation provides health coverage to first responders to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, who have been battling for federal help for years. After a contentious battle in which some Republicans suggested the legislation was creating a new entitlement program, it finally passed during the lame-duck session of Congress in December.

10. Will Jon Stewart be there? He's the one who forced it through.
Or would that not be bipartisan?

11. 9/11 First Responders Health Care Bill Signed Into Law By President Obama

President Barack Obama has signed into law a bill to provide aid to survivors of the Sept. 11 attacks and first responders who became ill working in the ruins at the World Trade Center.

The bill was one of the last measures Congress passed before adjourning in December. Some Republicans were concerned with how to pay for the bill and they tried to block the measure. But they dropped their opposition after lawmakers struck a compromise to reduce the costs

The $4.2 billion measure will be paid for with a fee on some foreign companies that get U.S. government procurement contracts

Obama signed the bill from Hawaii, where he's vacationing with his family.

12. that photo isn't of him signing the 9/11 bill
seems to be him signing the original health care reform bill

Pete Souza just posted the real one on flickr

nonetheless, Thank you, Mr. President! (And shame on any of the Republican politicians who prance around "I love America" yet voted against this bill!)

14. A good start
Now we just need to extend that coverage to the 46.5 million other uninsured Americans.
