Suspect Bought Bullets Hours Before Rampage (first Walmart turned him away)
Edited on Mon Jan-10-11 06:16 PM by RamboLiberal
Source: Wall Street Journal

Arizona shooting suspect Jared Lee Loughner was turned away from a Walmart store when he tried to buy ammunition, but was sold the bullets at another Walmart nearby, hours before the rampage, according to people familiar with the matter.

Federal investigators probing the shooting are focusing on the sequence of Mr. Loughner's actions as they try to establish that he was acting with some planning despite his apparent mental-health issues, according to these people.

It was unclear what caused the first Walmart store clerk to turn Mr. Loughner away that morning.

-----

The image and the information about the bullet purchases offers further evidence the shooting was not a spur-of-the-moment incident, but was planned, these people say.

6. So, WalMart failed to stop a terrorist attack, maybe they do need
DHS all up and down their ass...and here I thought the 'Most Patriotic Store' in America would be our savior!

8. How was Walmart supposed to "stop" a terrorist attack?
They were selling ammunition, which is completely legal. They abided by the law of the country and the state. It should not be surprising that it is sometimes not possible to tell who is a murderous psychopath and who is not. The solution, from the perspective you state, would be to ban sales of ammunition and firearms.
