Bernie Sanders' speech on tax deal to become book

The eight-hour-plus speech by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., against a deal to extend tax cuts is coming out in book form.

Nation Books announced today it will publish Sanders' stemwinder, to be called The Speech: A Historic Filibuster on Corporate Greed and the Decline of Our Middle Class. The e-book will be available Jan. 28.

Sanders was among many liberals in the Democratic caucus who was angered by the deal between President Obama and congressional Republicans to extend tax cuts for all income levels. The tax cuts were first signed into law by President George W. Bush and would have expired in December if Congress did not vote to extend them.

On Dec. 10, Sanders took to the Senate floor and talked and talked against the deal, which he said was better for upper-income taxpayers than the poor and middle class. In all, Sanders talked for nearly 8 1/2 hours.
