Senator Scott Brown plans to report over $8.3 million cash on hand for his 2012 re-election campaign when he files a federal finance report on April 15, an aide said today.

The tally includes $1.7 million raised during the first quarter of the year.

By some estimates, Brown may spend up to $25 million on his campaign, in which he is seeking his first full term after replacing the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy in February 2010.

"Finally, Senator Brown, like other senators from Massachusetts and elsewhere, is registering a political action committee, 'ScottPAC,' which will allow him to respond to requests for financial support from other candidates," said spokeswoman Gail Gitcho.

3. Not only is that a lot of money, it's to campaign in only one

state. They all act like they have to campaign nation-wide and need tons of money. A representative only has his own relatively small district in one state that he has to campaign in. The dollar amounts are and have been ludicrious.
The only persons who need to campaign nation-wide are the candidates for president. That takes a considerable amount of money but the rest of congress just doesn't need those huge numbers.

6. That's a good amount of cash on hand, the Dems better be able to match that
Otherwise he could honestly win a full 6-year term in Blue Massachusetts.

8. It's going to be tough.
Brown is turning into quite the RINO. What will Massachusetts do? Reelect the RINO or elect some Democrat not named Martha Coakley? Brown knows he's on a short lease in Massachusetts. This is a tough call when we have real teabaggers running for Senate in other parts of the country. I'd take Brown over a teabagger any day.

10. So when does the
playgirl spread come out? Who gave him all that money and why was he begging Papa Koch for more money? He may not need them if the dems do not run someone soon.
