Walker demotes son of campaign contributor
Edited on Tue Apr-05-11 05:11 PM by Newsjock
Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Gov. Scott Walker abruptly reversed course today and demoted the son of a large campaign contributor to his former job with the state Department of Regulation and Licensing.

The move comes one day after the Journal Sentinel reported that Brian Deschane, 27, had landed an $81,500-a-year job in Walker's administration overseeing environmental and regulatory matters and dozens of employees at the Department of Commerce. The promotion amounted to a raise of 26%.

... Walker chief of staff Keith Gilkes recommended Brian Deschane for a job with the Regulation and Licensing Department. In January, he became bureau director of board services, a position that paid $62,728 a year.

His pay will return to the lower amount when he resumes duties Wednesday at the Department of Regulation and Licensing, Walker spokesman Cullen Werwie said.

... The Department of Commerce recently hired Deschane, 27, as its new administrator of environmental and regulatory services — an $81,500-a-year job that supervises 76 employees and oversees storage tank regulations and environmental cleanups.

Deschane never graduated from college and, according to his resume, had no discernible experience in the field. Yet according to documents provided to the State Journal Tuesday, he was chosen to replace a 25-year state employee with a degree in chemical engineering and a resume full of management and regulatory experience.

... The Walker administration and Jerry Deschane both denied any quid pro quo took place. On Tuesday, Walker spokesman Cullen Werwie said that when the governor “learned of the details of this agency staffing decision, he directed his administration to move in another direction.”

33. Nope, Gov. Wanker is a champion dumbass motherfucker.
Hands down. If you can find any history as county executive for Milwaukee County, it would pretty much some up just how much of a stupid motherfucker he is. Wanker cost the taxpayers of Milwaukee County plenty of money on some of his moves. The big money savior, Wanker, ended up costing the county more money than he ever saved. He was just the golden-haired boy of the conservanazis. he's always trying something that is unconstitutional, hoping to get away with it. Just like he's doing now.

13. "demotes" to $63 K per year, while stealing from teachers
The average teacher salary in Wisconsin is about $42,000. Walker wants to give them an 8% pay cut.

Yet a dropout kid from some high-dollar donor gets DEMOTED to $62K per year? Bad form.

Advanced college degrees = $42K
Dropout = $62.7K

But then again, the Walktater is a dropout himself, so he cannot surround himself with people smarter than he is.

I hear that even though the Walktater and his mouthpiece are denying a quid pro quo, this is another example (the mistress being one) of someone bypassing the regular application process. Gotta wonder how that happens of the higher ups don't know.

14. Heck of a job Brownie.
These guys never deviate from their MO yet nobody can see this. Patronage jobs to the highest bidder, just another example of the r's pointing the finger at everyone else but never at themselves. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. I'm from Chicago so I know plenty about patronage jobs, but at least we don't give them away while saying we're broke. F'n teachers probably wish they could get that much / year at the highest pay grade. Yet some 20 something SOB gets that much because of what his daddy paid.

I admit that this may not be the most eloquent post, but I don't care. The more I think and hear about this useless piece of dog crap, the more I dislike him. One more thing, when (not if) he gets recalled, I do not want him to set foot in the state of Iowa. At any time for any reason.

Caught with his hand in the taxpayer's pockets, he decided to move in another direction.

Before they kicked him in a similar location.

Actually, I was hoping this went on a lot longer so the people of Wisconsin could see what an incompetent spendthrift he is.

Will the Koch brothers have to find another governor to buy?

Brian Deschane should be harassed mercilessly. The problem is that Walker and pals know that everything will be forgotten next week.
Why shouldn’t people tell him what they think of this? He’s getting compensated well enough to handle it.
