Halliburton Wins Iraq Drill Contract From ExxonMobil
Source: Reuters

Published: Monday, 11 Apr 2011 | 9:45 AM EST

Halliburton said Monday it has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil Iraq to provide drilling services for 15 wells in the West Qurna oil field in southern Iraq.

Halliburton will provide a complete range of construction services using three drilling rigs to deliver the wells in the first phase of the West Qurna project, said Joe Rainey, president of Halliburton's Eastern Hemisphere operations.

The company gave no financial details of the contract. Last month, ExxonMobil Iraq, a unit of global oil giant Exxon Mobil , said production from its West Qurna I oil field rose to 285,000 barrels per day, above the 10 percent target set under technical services contract.

ExxonMobil Iraq is the lead contractor with 60 percent interest working with South Oil Company of Iraq. Co-developers of West Qurna I include Oil Exploration Company of Iraq with a 25 percent interest. Shell West Qurna B.V., and a Royal Dutch Shell affiliate holds 15 percent interest.

1. How do we get rid of Haliburton?
In terms of damage to America, Haliburton is 10x more dangerous than the Tea party

10. I would prefer to ride around on a horse. I truly would. Most folks, however, prefer their cars.
That means gas. That means oil and that means drilling and, since we aren't interested in drilling our own oil, that means Haliburton. They will never pay for anything for they are as American as apple pie and V8 engines. Might as well get used to it.

11. there are alternatives to invading countries to steal oil.

getting Americans killed so somebody can stay in a mansion is pretty disgusting... saying we are there so we can drive around is false. Average Americans get nothing from this except for death, pollution, and more debt. Who do you think pays for all of this, the rich? Oh, they'll pay, but not right now if "We just get used to It".

Sociopaths don't care, I do...

12. the mansions are just side effects of the aforemtnioned reality.
and I absolutely disagree with this statement: "saying we are there so we can drive around is false". As I am sure you know, America has and is repositioning its military force into the middle east in order to exert American influence over the oil fields in order to guarantee that we don't get cut off from our life blood. As our politicaln and economic influence wanes, we are left with our military influence. If we did not have that, the Chinese and the Russians would already be developing the middle eastern oil fields for themselves and we would be...Amish. The alternative is, of course, "drill baby drill". Like I said, I'd much rather ride a horse anyways.

13. Bush used the US military to conquer Iraq so that multinational oil companies
Edited on Tue Apr-12-11 08:33 AM by Zorra
could conduct operations in Iraq in order to extract and profit from Iraq's vast oil resources without fear of reprisal from the government of, or people of, Iraq.

We are the main military contractor of giant multinational oil companies.

Except that the giant oil companies never have to pay us, we serve them for free, with our money and our blood. And then they jack up oil prices to help keep us down economically.

To add insult to injury, we subsidize them while they often don't pay taxes.

They take all the profits, except for the "kickbacks" they give to the political puppets they install in the different governments that they use to manipulate events according to their needs.
