Arizona Senate passes Obama birther bill after boost from Donald Trump
Source: Phoenix Business Journal

The Arizona Senate approved the so-called ‘birther’ bill requiring 2012 presidential candidates to prove they were born in the U.S. and are thus eligible to run for president.

... The Arizona Legislature passed the bill 20-8 on a party-line vote in the State Senate with Republicans backing and Democrats opposing.

The measure includes some changes that allow for other documents beside birth certificates to be produced by presidential contenders. It now goes back to the Arizona House of Representatives for another vote. The House previously approved the birther bill without new Senate changes.

... Trump is considering a run for president in 2012 and recently met with Arizona Rep. Carl Seel, R-Anthem. Seel is the author of the birther bill aimed at Obama and the 2012 race.

2. Should he (longshot) win in 2012 ...
his hair wouldn't be eligible to stay in the white house ... I don't believe that they make that hair in the U.S. ...

3. Maybe we should let the red states secede.

And since they are so dependent of handouts from blue states, a few long lean years might bring them back to their senses.

6. Top of their list is to eject the brown people.
And I don't just mean people from South of the Border.

It would only be later that they would realize that they need brown people.

8. Maybe when Obama gets the AZ stamp of approval
the birthers will be so confused and demoralized they'll stay home and wonder what other fairy tales they've been told aren't real.

They spend so much energy in something that will not benefit them at all. Crazy.

21. McCain's not
Black. And he wasn't born in this country but he's not Black so that's that.

The GOP was wanting to change the Constitution to make it possible for Ahnold to run for President, though they stopped talking about it when it became apparent that he was much too socially liberal to suit the like of the base.

A candidate that can’t produce records proving he or she is eligible to run for U.S. president might be excluded from next year’s ballot. :eyes:

13. What influence would a bill passed in Arizona have on federal laws?
Would it just mean that someone who didn't satisfy Arizona law couldn't be President in Arizona?

18. Please do not bash us Texans - it is very offensive.
Edited on Wed Apr-13-11 11:11 PM by Tx4obama

First of all it is against the law for 'any' state to secede from the union.
Secondly, there are TONS of democrats here in Texas.
Texas is more PURPLE than it is red.
In the 2008 presidential election Obama won the majority of our largest cities/counties: Austin/Travis, Dallas/Dallas, Houston/Harris, San Antonio, El Paso, etc. (the only large city McCain won was Ft.Worth).

25. My thoughts exactly..........
Isn't that being done with almost the same levity as the city council of Berkeley, CA voting to censure North Korea for human rights violations? Of course it makes perfect sense that the Don was in on it too.

24. The absolute
original birth certificate there is. Ceritified, but not the original. I live in Los Angeles, Cali and I can't get my daughter's ORIGINAL, only a ceritified copy, just like what Prez O got but back then his is ceritificate of live birth which is the same damn thing.

God must be shaking his head right now. He thought he gave all humans the the means to be smarter than the so called lower animals. I beg to differ with these birthers.
