Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin on Wednesday signed into law a measure prohibiting abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, making it the fourth state to ban such late term abortions.

She also signed a law preventing health insurers from covering elective abortions.

Fallin, a Republican serving her first term as the state's chief executive, said both laws are important measures that safeguard life.

2. These goddamn repukes know NOTHING about medicine or biology.
That bitch just signed women's death warrants. Is she going to be held responsible when women start dying because of this asinine, cruel, and archaic law?

3. The women will die one by one ... when families figure it out, maybe they'll sue her --
but otherwise, don't see any elected officials coming to the rescue of

Roe vs Wade!!

And there's a rightwing lock on the Supreme fascists!!

Indiana Senate OKs abortion bill stripping public funds from providers
Measure adds restrictions to procedure

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana is on its way to becoming one of the most-restrictive states in the nation when it comes to abortion.
The state Senate approved a bill Tuesday that would ban abortions 20 weeks after conception, except to save the life of the mother, and require abortion providers to tell women life begins at conception, fetuses might feel pain and having an abortion could increase the risk of infertility.

The measure also would take public funding away from Planned Parenthood of Indiana and any other organizations that provide abortions.

Indiana law currently allows abortions until the fetus is considered viable at about the 24th week of pregnancy. Only two other states, Nebraska and North Carolina, prohibit abortions after 20 weeks.

But the language in House Bill 1210 that applies to Planned Parenthood sparked the most debate Tuesday, partly because the provision was added to the bill as an amendment the previous day..
