Kapanke fires back in recall skirmish; donations rolling in

By Chris Hubbuch chubbuch@lacrossetribune.com lacrossetribune.com | Posted: Saturday, April 23, 2011 12:10 am |

Attorneys for state Sen. Dan Kapanke have responded in the latest round of legal arguments over a petition to recall him, even as new donations have bolstered the Republican’s war chest.

Last week, Kapanke’s attorneys challenged the recall petition on the grounds that recall organizer Pat Scheller had not filed campaign finance forms and therefore none of the petition signatures should be counted.

Democrats rebutted, saying the argument made an artificial distinction between the recall committee, which was registered, and Scheller, who was acting on the committee’s behalf and is listed on the committee’s registration papers.

In the response, Kapanke’s attorneys continue to assert the distinction between Scheller as an individual and the recall committee. The response even challenges the validity of the rebuttal, saying it was filed by attorneys for the committee and not Scheller.........more.....

later in the article Kapanke himself says he expects an election to he held--so I am wondering if his lawyes have advised him that these lawsuits are on thin grounds.

Also--"State Rep. Jennifer Shilling, a Democrat from La Crosse, has announced her intention to run against him, if an election is ordered."

I've already committed to at least one day to head to LaX to help her. More if I can squeeze it in.

The Koch brothers should have gotten a guarantee that they would only have to buy a Senate seat once every few years. I hope they spend a ton of money and lose it all. That is the only way to stop them from buying influence---not because it is immoral, but if it costs too much and they don't win.

4. When it hurts the pocketbook, then they listen. But Koch Brothers INC have
deep pockets. I imagine it will be petty change to them. We will see.

5. You'd have to win a $100,000,000 TAX FREE lottery EVERY WEEK....
...to net as much as the Koch brothers did last year. Each.

7. They're stingy. Every nickel hurts.
Let's help them spend that money.

Since the only way to hurt them is monetarily, the best strategy seems to be boycott their products and throw up court interference; lawsuits, etc.

Here's the professional website. Businesses need to be involved. I hope Unions make sure they don't use any GP products in their offices.

A list of some of the retail products (I'm sure I missed some)
Angel Soft bath tissue
Brawny paper towels
Dixie plates, bowls, napkins and cups
Mardi Gras napkins and towels
Quilted Northern bath tissue
Soft 'n Gentle bath tissue
Sparkle napkins
Vanity Fair napkins
Zee napkins

Everytime we give them a nickel, they spend it against us. Starve the Beast.

Don't use these brands.

If you're in business, don't buy their professional brands.

10. Actually I did buy some supplies today and I avoided the
dixie products. I had a list one time of their products to avoid but lost it. I will have to print it out again.

11. The Thugs are trying to split hairs, grasping at anything they can...
...my concern is that they seem to always find some Activist Conservaturd Judge, that backs them up.
