US says it has evidence of Iran’s support for Syrian government crackdown on protesters

By Associated Press, Published: April 27

UNITED NATIONS — The United States has evidence of active Iranian support for the Syrian government’s “abhorent and deplorable” crackdown on peaceful demonstrators, U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice said late Tuesday.

“The outrageous use of violence to quell protests must come to an end and now,” she told reporters after Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon briefed the Security Council behind closed doors on Syria and other hotspots.

“The brutal violence being used by the government of Syria against its own people is abhorent and deplorable and the United States condemns it in the strongest terms,” Rice said.

Syria has banned nearly all foreign media and restricted access to trouble spots since the uprising began, making it almost impossible to verify the dramatic events shaking one of the most authoritarian, anti-Western regimes in the Arab world. Witnesses say the crackdown by President Bashar Assad has intensified since Friday, with the death toll topping 350.

2. What about Bahrain?
Was Saudi Arabia condemned for its support of the government of Bahrain or the support of Western countries for Bahrain - were they condemned? Not that I recall!

11. Oh Yeah..."Curveball" that's a name from the past that was sort of "wiped out" and "forgotten."
That guy was a REAL WAR MONGER. Seems I did hear he has an influential role in the new Iraq Government Reorganization...but then...not many folks in the MSM seem to keep at that interesting item of news.

Not, that it wasn't reported...but that it DIED from lack of follow up. :-(

I'll bet if I Google "Curveball" ...I'd find he is in the NEW DEMOCRATIC IRAQ Government...in prominent position. I'm too tired to do it myself, tonight.
