Supreme Court recount gets wobbly start in Waukesha County
Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Waukesha — The state Supreme Court recount got off to a wobbly start here Wednesday.

After more than a half-hour of meticulous instructions and ground rules from Waukesha County's chief canvasser, retired Judge Robert G. Mawdsley, questions were raised about the very first bag of ballots to be counted, from the Town of Brookfield.

As canvassers and tabulators compared a numbered seal on a bag with the number recorded for that bag by a town election inspector who prepared the paperwork on election night, the numbers didn't match.

"What a great way to start," one tabulator said.

3. So the uniquely numbered seal that protects against ballot manipulation
for one of the ballot bags from the Town of Brookfield did not have the number that was reported by the town's election official on election night.

When the seal and the bag have two different numbers, that means FRAUD. And yet, the Democratic observer there decided to allow a ballot bag that has a fraudulent seal get counted?

I'm surrounded by idiots in Wisconsin.

4. Numbers do get misrecorded all the time.
Edited on Thu Apr-28-11 12:27 AM by caseymoz

It could just mean it was mis-recorded.

But everybody saw it, and it will lead to an investigation and maybe a court challenge.

7. We have the nation's largest accounting firms certify Oscar votes.
How did our priorities in this country get so incredibly effed up?

More importantly, when will we actually do something about it?

8. I think a hand count from the start is the only honest way to go
all other shit can - and looks like often is - manipulated. maybe get college kids and others to volunteer to count votes - like 2 to verify each ballot. i dunno. we could use the machines to verify the hand counts maybe. but i do know i don't trust our current system made up of almost all electronic voting - or at the least counting - at all.
