Famous Christian pastor David Wilkerson dies in East Texas wreck

ANDERSON COUNTY/CHEROKEE COUNTY (KYTX) - A famous Christian author and pastor has been killed in a traffic wreck in East Texas.

79-year-old David Wilkerson, author of "The Cross and the Switchblade" is dead and his wife and another person are injured in an accident involving a car and a big rig.

It happened this afternoon on Highway 175 at the Neches River bridge.

The 18-wheeler went off the bridge into the riverbed below.

4. Loved the book and the ones by Nicki Cruse(sp) one of Wilkerson converts. My children even read

them.
