Fox News Channel Offically Fires Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum
Author: Jessica Grabertpublished: 2011-05-06 11:27:39

Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum have been officially fired from Fox News Channel after waffling for two months over statements maintaining they might run in the presidential race. To maintain the integrity of the news network, FSN had suspended the two men in March until May 1, in order to give them time to back away from the idea of running and return to their current positions. Turns out, both men needed the full 60 days to decide they would rather end their contracts.

Had either man officially stated he wasn’t running, the contracts would have been reinstated and the two men could have returned to their work at the network. Had either man stated he was running, allowing pointy-fingered Gingrich or Santorum to stay on board would have compromised the journalistic integrity of the network. However, though the two men did kiss their contracts goodbye, this does not necessarily mean Gingrich and Santorum will jump into the race (Although Santorum was present at last night’s debate). It just means they have left the door open.

It just leaves more questions unanswered.

2. Fox "news" channel would have to fire everyone including that asshole Murdoch
To even begin to think about approaching anything remotely similar to "journalistic integrity".

32. Well, to maintain the APPEARANCE of integrity
or at least to sell the appearance of integrity to the usual audience.

They'll be back, as they fall victim to the popularity of Trump and Palin.

8. Well........... here's an idea.
Fire EVERYONE that stands or sits in front of a camera on Fox. For one thing, this'll add a whole bunch more possibilities to the GOP field of hopefuls. After all - any one of them's as qualified as the ones they fired! Also give Ailes his severance pay.
Next, have Rupert lease out his studios to Free Speech TV and be totally hands off as to content. Then they might approach journalistic integrity.

12. 'FoxNews - Your Source For GOP Candidates – Oh, and Fair & Balanced Too...'

all the GOP candidates coming up reminds me of what happens when you step on an anthill... they all start pouring out of the nest

but ants are regarded as much more intelligent than they are, so apologies to ants ahead of time for the analogy

15. Journalistic Integrity
Some of the comments here indicate that people don't understand what J.I. means to Fox "news".

It means their payoffs to and from the GOP must continue without anything suspicious happening.

33. I don't know. Everyone should google "Santorum frothy substance" and find out.
Edited on Sat May-07-11 10:46 AM by No Elephants
According to Colbert, much googling of that term will keep the term in view any time Santorum's name is googled. So, I heartily recommend searching it often. I feel we owe to him.

What a horrible cable news station they are! Just horrible! I would rather that my cable company carried hard core pornography than carry Fox News.

motives could hardly be considered 'Patriotic'. Now if they could
rid themselves of their Prime Time Hasbeens, they just might get
a few viewers. Actually, I lie, I would sooner watch paint dry than
