BOTHELL, Wash. -- Two schools in Bothell are in lockdown after a bear was reported to be seen at 1210 Northeast 160th Street late Wednesday morning.

Both Woodmoor Elementary and Northshore Jr. High are in a modified lockdown as a precaution.

"We have a black bear in the area,” Northshore School District spokeswoman Leanna Albrecht said.

Albrecht said the bear was spotted on or near Northshore's campus earlier Wednesday.

3. WTF, lockdown?
What's it going to to do, invade? Jayzus H. Up here, you get a bear by the school, it just means inside recess.

6. That's essentially what 'lockdown' means in this case.
Keep in mind, we're nuts here in the PWN.

7. Nope, not really.
I've run into them in the high Sierra's more times than I can count. The only one that's ever concerned me was a momma with her cub, and she just stood her ground and watched me while I backed down the trail a ways.

I wouldn't want to meet a brown bear in a forest, but black bears aren't usually interested in eating people, and they usually only attack animals they want to eat.
