Russell Pearce to face recall election, group says (the author of SB1070)
Source: The Arizona Republic

The Maricopa County Elections Department has verified enough signatures to call a special recall election for Senate President Russell Pearce, according to the group lobbying for the recall.

Citizens for a Better Arizona said they were told by the county on Wednesday morning that 8,239 signatures had been verified. They needed 7,756 to get a recall election. County officials said the results are still unofficial.

"This guarantees there will be an election and at the rate they are going, it's almost a given that the election will be in November," said Citizens for A Better Arizona Chairman Chad Snow.

The verification will continue. The group turned in 16,949 signatures, and they all must be reviewed before the county submits the final results to the Secretary of State's Office. The Secretary of State then has five days to approve the results. Gov. Jan Brewer then has 15 days to call an election.

The recall group hopes Brewer will call an election in time to qualify for the November ballot instead of the March ballot, but it will be close.

Woooohooooo! This is Arizona we're talking about.

Russell Pearce is the pig who authored SB1070, plus he is the Senate President.
All that horrid crap that comes out of Arizona these days has happened under his leadership.

This is HUGH!!11!!!!! or in the words of our Vice President.... this is a big fucking deal!
