NEW YORK — Apple has surpassed Exxon Mobil as the most valuable company in the U.S.

Apple Inc.'s stock gained 3.2 percent to $364.60 on Tuesday afternoon, bringing the iPhone and iPad maker's market capitalization to about $338.0 billion

Exxon Mobil Corp. shares, meanwhile, were trading at $69.45, down nearly 1 percent. That gives the oil company a market cap of $337.7 billion.

Other big-name corporations, such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and General Electric Co., don't even come close.

Actually, that makes Apple the most valuable company in the world. This was projected to happen in September or so, but with the current 'Tea Party Downgrade' and all, it was ahead of schedule.

1. Apple should be paying tariffs on their slave labor goods
They certainly can afford to give back to the country that buys their crap.

8. Do you have specific info about your contention?
A link, maybe? I've been an Apple fanboy since the original Mac... But, I'd like to know what kind of corporate citizen they actually are.

Thanks!

10. Sure 'nuff do

Apple doesn't pay its fair share of taxes, and now the technology company is trying to get another tax break, says grassroots group US Uncut, which has planned a series of "dance-in" protests at Apple stores across the country. The group takes issue with Apple's support of a broader effort that would allow corporations to pay a low tax rate on profits they take home from overseas tax havens, according to a US Uncut release.

20. I bought in at $10. I'd have a bit of a nest egg. I sold
around the time Bush was appointed pres. I sold all my stock at once, got out of the market. I wish I had held onto AAPL. If I had, I would not have had enough money to pay off my mortgage.

13. do you remember about a year ago
that the company Apple uses in China where employees were jumping to the death because of the working conditions?
That ceo put up nets between the windows so prevent them. Steve Jobs defended them. These guys while brilliant are capitalists first.
