Battle for Libya: Rebel Forces Loot Gadhafi's Armory
Source: ABC News International

Large numbers of rebel fighters are retreating into Libya's western towns and cities to regroup with weapons looted from Moammar Gadhafi's armory while others continue to clash with the Libyan leader's regime as the battle for Tripoli enters its third day.

Rebels broke into Bab al-Azizya, the main military compound in Tripoli, and reportedly filled several pick-up trucks to the brim with munitions and supplies. Rebel soldiers told ABC News that they plan to return to their bases then go back to Tripoli to attack Gadhafi's loyalists one more time in an attempt to seal victory.

1. I think looted is the wrong word. Liberated may better show the intent. nt

2. ......
Winners:

- IMF
- World Bank
- Britain
- France
- United States
- Military Industrial Complex/Contractors oil and otherwise
- Al QAeda

Losers:

- Libyan people, sectarian violence and immovable debt will surely cloud this proud country from this point forward.
- Kadaffi, no tears for him at all really.
- China, had massive investments in Kaddaffi's government and had signed independent oil contracts.
- Dinah, Africa's gold currency will surely be a distant memory now.
- Finally last and not least PEACE was the final loser in all of this!!!

4. They 'tried' PEACE but, obviously, it didn't work...
Their (lost for now and for how long?) 'asking' PEACE was responded with 'golden' bullets.

How about we try PEACE 'round here too?
Maybe we'll be 'listened' to?

3. They beatified those guns! Call it that, if it makes you feel better about years of blood to come.

5. If they've got his guns, it means he's not in control of them, and that means he's not
in control at all.

This could get bad but at least it's over. The one thing this part of the world has going for it is that many countries are all trying to re-invent themselves at the same time, so, no one will have to face this in a vacuum. All arabs will be talking about their futures across the world.

Revolution is messy but necessary, like all kinds of childbirth. We know the Libyans did this themselves, so, at least we don't have to totally own this one.

We still own Iraq and Afghanistan, and many others.

7. This will be handy for the civil war after the civil war
Like it was in Iraq and Afghanistan. Still is.
