Tea party, right blast Teamster president Hoffa’s remarks; Bachmann fundraises
Source: Yahoo

Tea party leaders and conservative critics are calling on the White House to denounce remarks made yesterday by International Brotherhood of Teamsters president James Hoffa. Hoffa's detractors contend that his comments called for violence against tea party members

During Hoffa's introduction Monday of President Obama at a Detroit, Mich., Labor Day rally, Hoffa likened union fights to a "war" and a "battle" between union workers and tea partiers, and described union supporters as Obama's "army."

~

Hoffa on Tuesday defended his comments in an interview with Talking Points Memo, saying he has no regrets about his choice of words.

"How is that different than Mitch McConnell saying he wants to take out Barack Obama?" Hoffa asked.

Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz refused to denounce the comments during an interview on Fox News Tuesday, accusing the network of failing to express outrage over incendiary remarks made at tea party rallies.

11. So your reply is to... go wayyy down to their level?
Just because the pot is calling the kettle black, doesnt mean the kettle isnt black. This was a insensitive irresponsible remark that makes liberals look like the equivalent of conservatives.

18. insensitive? really?
I should be sensitive to the GOP after all they've done and continue to do? Apparently you find Hoffa's remark offensive to the GOP. Given the way the leaders they have treated this POTUS but more importantly the actions they have taken against the majority of working class and seniors in this country I find it extraordinary that you would take offense to etiquette. But even more is the equivalence you make between the two parties. If you haven't notice we're in a colossal struggle with corporate takeover of our democracy by the republicans in the House/tea party. But your point is decorum?

To point out the hypocrisy of the 'christian right' who continue to feign an air of principled behavior while holding liberals accountable on every minor issue that emerges is wrong? I am the same as they are?

To the OP and thread. If I have embarrassed you or the democratic party by my post please call me out. As muskypundit seems to think I have.

To defend their inflammatory calls to violence. Which is something I hate, I hate to feel like them. Violent language is unacceptable no matter who is using it.

And the part I really hate is the potential this has to hurt the party and the president. They control the media, we can lamented it all we want, but we can't ignore it. Statements like this will be pounded into Americas mind, because they need something to demonize us, because they don't have a lot. It was very very self serving of hoffa to say that and leave the president in that position.

20. i tend to agree with you...
First, they are projecting again, second, I get the idea that we kinda shouldn't try to play at their very low level (it IS rather demeaning to us, IMHO--but here's the thing....its the ONLY level of play they understand. If were always aiming for the high ground, it won't sink in how pissed we really are at their rampant idiocy; for it to have any kind of impact, it has to hurt their feelings, it has to be seen as a PERSONAL attack, because its the only thing they recognize as a REAL attack, everything else is wishy-washy, softy, spineless, pinko-commie liberal-sissy snark. They don't get that SMART is our Dagger, and unless we hit occasionally hit them with their own club, they don't even see it as a defense of our principals.

Third, we cannot continue to just let them play the victim all the time - -"boo hoo, they don't like us 'cause we(insert reason were being oppressed) and that's not a very nice thing to do, see everyone how mean and hateful Libruls are?"

Fuck 'em, this time they got hit with their own club, and now they don't like it. Oh well, maybe it will be a lesson for the future.
But probably not.

"Let's take these son-of-a-bitches out and give America back to America where we belong."

....what's all the fuss?....I find nothing in the above sentence insulting to female dogs.
