Occupy Houston protesters arrested
Source: Houston Chronicle

Six or seven protesters were arrested for not removing the tarp, which was confiscated, Occupy Houston member Mary Belcik told Chronicle reporter Dale Lezon. An additional three protesters were detained for jaywalking and interfering with police, the group said.

During the altercation, the crowd taunted the officers, chanting “Shame!” and “Show me what democracy looks like!”

Three protesters have been released, but seven remain in a municipal jail facility on Lubbock, according to Occupy Houston, which posted videos of the incident on its YouTube channel. (Some of the clips contain expletives.)

I didn't see anything on the first page of LBN on this - hope it's not a dupe.

3. There have been rumors in Houston that the authorities would start coming down harder
on the protesters after the mayoral election. She didn't waste any time did she?

4. yeah
I walk by and visit the Occupy Houston area at least twice a day. Whenever I'm there, the police presence is always on display - they watch carefully for any and all perceived violations.

6. good one!
I went by at lunch today, dropped off a couple of bags of clementines, and saw that the police presence is still there - on horseback today (Houston has police patrols on horseback downtown).

7. Jaywalking and interfering with the police?
Sounds like harassment and intimidation to me...

Most likely it was individuals who were documenting the interaction of law enforcement in regards to the arrests.
