16. I wish he had to look
at the actual physical remains, as well as the physical remains of as many Iraqi civilians as possible whose deaths he has been responsible for.

Maybe he could also be forced to tour some Iraqi hospitals following a night of bombing, and see the injured up close.

I doubt it would make him feel guilty since he has no conscience, but at least he might experience some visceral revulsion.

4. 14 in May
Total: 755

God knows how many now injured will die from their injuries and not get counted among the fatalities.

3. The 1AD was supposed to have returned home last month
Edited on Mon May-03-04 10:04 AM by lebkuchen
The division was extended beyond the 365 days stated on their orders. The "gotcha!" is as follows: "or until the mission has been accomplished." The mission will never be accomplished.

Below is the 1AD public affairs spokesperson's response last week when eight 1AD were killed on Thursday.

“I think it does a disservice to the soldiers and more importantly their families to infer that this would not have happened had the deployment not been extended,” Gercken said. “Their sacrifice and the work they were accomplishing is too important to be covered up by speculation on what might have happened.”

Memo to Maj. Gercken: Had these soldiers been returned home as promised, they would, in fact, be alive today.

9. These "readjusted" casualty numbers are really starting to piss me off
553 dead since "end of major combat"? The real number is over 750, you dumb fuck editors!! Twice the number of those killed during "major combat"!! Assholes!

Excuse the profanity please, I just had to vent.

10. It clearly says "killed in combat"
Now, the decision to run the "killed in combat" number over the total number of those killed is pretty clearly political, but it is - at the very least - clearly marked here.

11. THEY ALL DIED IN THE SERVICE TO THEIR COUNTRY
THE NEOCONS ARE PISSING ON THEIR GRAVES BY PLAYING WITH THE NUMBERS

Rove and his THUGS are deliberately keeping the numbers down to sedate the SHEEP...

If I were still in the service, I would be very very angry. I hope everyone here makes sure to write to whoever they know in the service and point out ROVE'S LIES He is the Scummiest BASTARD on the face of the earth.

12. I agree
I am a 60 year old woman, never in the service, but the way the neocons are hushing up the real numbers, and the shameful way they try to hide those who gave their lives, makes my blood boil.

They are all scummy bastards; the sheep better wake up pretty soon, or we are doomed. It might already be too late, even if they do start paying attention to the real situation in Iraq.

14. Thank you for recognizing their sacrifice.
If they were killed in a truck accident there, hauling supplies, why should that death mean any less than someone shot through the head, between the eyes, by a sniper???

These ROVIAN CRIMINALS somehow have convince the News Media of this Principle.
