Soldiers Back in U.S. Tell of More Iraqi Abuses
ANTIOCH, California (Reuters) - Three U.S. military policemen who served at Baghdad's Abu Ghraib prison said on Thursday they had witnessed unreported cases of prisoner abuse and that the practice against Iraqis was commonplace.

"It is a common thing to abuse prisoners," said Sgt. Mike Sindar, 25, a National Guardsman with the 870th Military Police Company based in the San Francisco Bay area. "I saw beatings all the time.

"A lot of people had so much pent-up anger, so much aggression."

<snip>

Although public attention has focused on the dehumanizing photos, some members of the 870th MP unit say the faces in those images were far from the only ones engaged in cruel behavior.

"It was not just these six people," Sindar, who shaves his head and wears a large tattoo on his forearm, told Reuters. "Yes, the beatings happen, yes, all the time."

1. I bet Rums knew, I BET
"When military investigators were looking into abuses several months ago, they gave U.S. guards a week's notice before inspecting their possessions, several soldiers said.

That shows you how lax they are about discipline. 'We are going to look for contraband in here, so hint, hint, get rid of the stuff,' that's the way things work in the Guard," Leal said."

Absolutely disgusting.

7. Yeah, and 60 Minutes delayed broadcast of those pictures
for two weeks at the request, I believe, from someone at DOD. Only when the New Yorker article was about to break did 60 Minutes go ahead and air them.

9. IT WAS MOTHERFUCKER MYERS
THE ASS HOLE WHO STILL HASN'T READ THE REPORT

Gen. BLUE SUIT MEYERS puppet boy, US military catamite, appointed by Cheney Caesar in
the year of Our Lord 2001

His quotes “Duh, we are winning” and on the increased violence that flared up this month is "a
symptom of the success that we're having here in Iraq"

And "No my hand is not grabbing at her breast"

Also on the subject of Fallujah "We went in because we had to find the perpetrators and what
we found was a huge rat's nest that is still festering today. It needs to be dealt with,"

2. "one female soldier in his unit fired off a slingshot into a crowd"
Edited on Fri May-07-04 02:52 AM by ezmojason
What is the deal with these female guards are they under pressure
to be more sadistic and vile to prove they fit in with the boys?

"Ramone Leal, 25, said one female soldier in his unit fired off a slingshot into a crowd of prisoners, injuring one. Another group of soldiers knocked a 14-year-old boy to the ground as he arrived at the prison and then twisted his arm."

I seems that preying on the young and the old is a recurring pattern.

Why?

Are the mental conditioning techniques the army uses producing psychotic reactions?

4. In the concentration camps
of WWII, the worst of the worst were always in charge. I think it has something to do with having power over the powerless. Probably affects the psyche.

8. Seymour Hersh Mentioned Videotape Of Child Abuse
On Fox News' O'Reilly Factor, Seymour Hersh mentioned something about a special section in the prison containing children and a videotape taken of "things done to young boys". Although I certainly join all civilized people in condemning the evidence of torture that we've seen so far, I feel that the involvement of children would take this scandal to an entirely different level of concern. If such a videotape and story were to get out, showing children being abused, I think it would be curtains for sure for the Bush administration. Even the strongest Bush supporters are not going to buy Limbaugh's claim that this was ordinary "hazing" if children are involved. I hope it's not true about children being abused, but, if it is, I think the American people need to know about it. NOW !!!

"...HERSH: First of all, it's going to get much worse. This kind of stuff was much more widespread. I can tell you just from the phone calls I've had in the last 24 hours, even more, there are other photos out there. There are many more photos even inside that unit. There are videotapes of stuff that you wouldn't want to mention on national television that was done. There was a lot of problems..."

"...There was a special women's section. There were young boys in there. There were things done to young boys that were videotaped. It's much worse..."

13. That just makes me sick
And you're right, even freeper moms won't tolerate the rape and/or torture of little kids. I hope it all comes out soon as this is just too much.

I'm sure the Iraqi POW's (referred by to by the troops as RAGHEADS) appreciated your following of the UCMJ and the Geneva convention.
