that Mrs. Mobley, Emmett's mother, didn't live long enough to see this happen. She died last year. And, of course, the people who committed this horrible crime have had nearly 50 years of the prime of their lives to enjoy their freedom. Still, I'm very, very glad it happened.
A few months ago, I saw an interview with the daughter of the founder of Jet magazine on CNN. This was the same time that the gory footage from "The Passion of Christ" was all over the airwaves. As they interviewed this woman, they inevitably came around to how the photo of Emmett Till in his casket really put Jet on the map, with enormous circulation for that issue. But they never showed the picture! It was pretty infuriating, to see all those images of endless (choreographed) violence from "The Passion" and yet not even a brief glimpse of that important historic photo.
(If it was Ebony magazine, instead of Jet, my apologies.)

found with DNA etc. Saw 'Miss Burning' yesterday and it was scary. That was a scary time to me.
