Four Arrested in Iraq for Berg Killing

Iraqi police have arrested four people in the killing of American Nicholas Berg, an Iraqi security official said Friday.

The suspects were former members of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s Fedayeen paramilitary organization, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. They were arrested a week ago.

A week ago? Hmmm. . . .

3. But why Fedayeen?
And not Al Quaeda?

I just don't get it.

6. What's not to get?
They're still trying to prove the Sadaam-Osama connection.

Sell the tape as proof Al Qaeda did it, then catch guys associated with the "old" Iraq, and you have justifaction for the war.

At least in the minds of the Bush administration...

7. Because he's trying to link Hussein to al-Queda
And because people are starting to doubt why we invaded a nation at peace. "See how bad Hussein was?" he can say now.

On the tape, Bush's folk claim the speaker refers to al-Queda. He doesn't, it's a glaring mistranslation. But now Bush can claim that former Hussein people are connected to al-Queda, and then he can repeat the lie about the mistranslation, and he can blur the lines about when the connection occured, and soon Bush's followers will be claiming they have proof that Hussein was involved in 9-11.

4. Yeah, probably the four the US denied had been arrested last week
Why the dealy? Did they not want the Red Cross monitoring their treatment? Did they not feel American people deserved to know?

Dammit, when are we going to meet in DC with our pitchforks?

5. Saddam was secular.
His forces were not fundamentalist terrorists...like al queda, who they originally pinned it on.

Just can't get the story straight, can they?

9. So who TF are these four people?
Why no names? Just Saddam secret guard people...don't they have names?

I guess I have to join the tin foil hat crowd today...

I FINALLY gathered up enough nerve to watch the Berg beheading video last night and is it just me...or is there something weird about the way everyone moves in the first portion of that video?

It reminded me of a video game. The terrorists seemed to make the same slight movements over and over again as did Berg when he was sitting in front of them.

Maybe it was just me but the video didn't look right in general and I REALLY thought there would have been more blood.
