Ehrlich Orders Study of Electronic Voting Systems (MD)
Annapolis - The state has hired a private consultant to review a study that found security flaws in the electronic voting machines chosen for use in Maryland.

An independent review of the Diebold system "is an appropriate step toward ensuring the voter's fundamental right to an accessible, accurate and accountable election process," the governor said.

Gilles Burger, chairman of the Maryland Board of Elections, said the board has confidence in the Diebold system, but welcomes the review as an appropriate "step to safeguard the voters' right to an accurate election process."

Virginia election officials decided Thursday to certify the Diebold machines for use by Norfolk, the only Virginia locality that had plans to buy the system.

Last year, about 33,000 Diebold voting stations were used in elections in Maryland, Georgia, California, Kansas and other locations.

3. Looks to be SAIC - Science Applications International Corporation
According to Bev Harris - "SAIC, one of the main contractors for the Pentagon, has been engaged by the state of Maryland to write a report on the Diebold machines. This firm has conflicts of interest:

1) It is involved in the electronic voting industry
2) It stands to benefit financially from weapons contracts depending on who is elected"

go to the SAIC website - very strange looking..

And we had a huge thread all about SAIC a couple of days ago. My bookmarks for GD are suddenly GONE! Or I would give the thread.

It isn't just "according to Bev...."; More like, according to the world!!

Wait...I made a copy of the thread. It's long as HECK!!!!!

In MS Word it is 60 pages long.....

Maybe someone has the link for the thread itself......

6. Link to SAIC / e-voting whitewash thread
Here it is. Up over 200 posts, though, so be prepared to wait.

There are half a dozen other threads touching on this, but that's the main one.
