Nuclear Scientist Could Be Next Iraqi Premier

"PA"

A Shiite Muslim nuclear scientist is among those being considered for Iraq’s prime minister, officials said today as UN and US envoys and Iraqi leaders poured over names to fill the 30 top spots in the next government.

UN envoy Lakhdar Brahimi is due to announce by Monday the makeup of the caretaker government due to take power on June 30, a key step in US plans to hand over authority to the Iraqis.

Brahimi is helping work out who will serve as president, prime minister, two vice presidents and 26 Cabinet ministers, while trying to strike a balance among Iraq’s Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish factions.

The balance is vital to ensuring the stability of an administration that will run Iraq until elections due by Jan. 31.

2. I heard on the radio this morning that
one of his accomplishments seems to be that he refused to build a nuclear bomb for Saddam. Just thinking about it objectively I would say that while that may be a great thing for the coalition and others outside Iraq - maybe it wasnt the best thing for the Iraqis - if they had had a nuclear device, the U.S. would be treating them like Korea as opposed to bombing them to oblivion....

7. Maybe the Bushistas are looking to justify their Iraq invasion...
by basing it on a retroactive nuclear weapons program.

Their plan: get the scientist to develop the Bomb, then claim it to be retroactive to the day before the invasion.

6. That's the kind of thing I was thinking
How crazy is (or in your face) is this. Kind of like hiring an out of work casket maker to be the head of a crematory (what's the real point?)

With people that seem to take gleam in people dying, anything is possible.

Some of them others posters predictions are morbid also but then again some sick people in some weird gambling / bookie places would probably take odds on it. :scared:
