Kerry surges ahead in 12 crucial swing states as Bush poll ratings plummet
<snip>
Less than six months from election day, polls suggest that Mr Kerry is leading the President in 12 of the 16 so-called swing states. In some states the lead is slight, but in places such as New Hampshire, which Mr Bush won in 2000, Mr Kerry has a lead of almost 10 per cent.

Though polls offer only a snapshot in time, pollster John Zogby, who made the latest survey, said if the present leads in these 16 states hold true - and Democrats and Republicans hold on to the states each party won easily in 2000 - Mr Kerry will win with a margin of 102 electoral college votes. In 2000, Mr Bush beat Al Gore by 271 to 267.

"I have made a career of taking bungee jumps in my election calls," Mr Zogby wrote in an op-ed article. "Here is my jump for 2004: John Kerry will win the election ... We are unlikely to see any big bumps for either candidate because opinion is so polarised and, I believe, frozen in place. There are still six months to go and anything can happen. But as of today, this race is John Kerry's to lose."

The battleground states, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin, are likely to prove crucial in deciding who carries the day on 2 November. Republican and Democrat strategists know that in at least 30 states, along with the District of Columbia, the outcome of the vote is a foregone conclusion. But in the battleground states - which were won in 2000 by six percentage points or less - everything is up for grabs.

14. Can middle America even afford Starbuck's coffees anymore?
Damned if I can. Back when I had a job, it was one quad per day, easy. Now it's back to good old Mr. Coffee. Ya know, he's an okay guy; he totally understands and didn't take it personal even tho he spent a few years gathering dust in the basement.

9. Bush's Entire Presidency and His Campaign Has Focused On...
appealing to the hardcore Republican base. As this and other polls are showing, Bush is successful because he's only appealing to his base and no one else. Democrats despise him, and Independents are getting turned off to both the war and the economy. That leaves his base, and only his base.

16. How the hell much better can he do?
Man, I swear, Kerry could be ahead in 40 states, win by 100 EV and 15%, and the whores would still whine about how Reagan got more votes or more states or whatever they can find.

13. But I saw Whorie Fineman say 'Bush is in a great position and
he has all kinds of money to spend. He's looking really good.' I personally watched Whorie say this on Meet the Press or simular Whore show about 3 weeks ago.

I'm still worried about the Right stealing the election. I wonder if it's even possible to win Ohio right now, with Diebold in control.

The press here are finally owning up to their own whoring over *Bush, they could start some real reporting by printing stories like this.

25. At this point I'm wondering how low can Bush go before ...
the GOP decides to find another candidate. If his approval rating falls to the low 30's or below 30% how can they not pick someone else at their convention. They are headed for disaster in November.

Here's a thought. Wouldn't it be sweet karma to see Bush cancel the GOP convention citing a terrorist threat if it looked like they might pick another candidate.

31. Ah, I think you are right.
Thanks. Too bad, it would be nice to be able to read REAL news with my morning coffee. Reading it off a computer screen is just not the same for me even though thats where I get most of my info these days. The corporate media just can't be trusted, sad but true.

32. Thwarted terra, Osama, manipulated job #'s, pro bush hoes, lie ads...
are all coming. Want to win? Stop worring about polls. Go to a Dem area near you and register voters, sent twenty five bucks to Kerry, and bring two usually non-voting dems with you to the polls. If even 5 percent of Dems do those things, we'll win in a landslide.

33. the next month will tell
Two major points to consider

a) June 30. if somehow the shrub manages to pull it out of his pants and make it stand up, I can see some swing voters moving back

b) osama. if ashcroft wasn't wiping his ass with OUR constitution and really is correct about an upcoming attack, the likely result of another attack will drive people back to support whoever is president, even a demented, religious freak who hears voices telling him what to do.

if those play out favorably for the shrub, Kerry will be behind.

WE cannot misunderestimate the vile, power-hungry nature of this evil cabal. They will do
a n y t h i n g to win. and stay in power. HIlter in '33 comes to mind.
