New Questions Arise About Touch-Screen Voting Machines (Miami)

This is a long one: apparently, the county official responsible for confirming the accuracy of the machines was lying to the county official responsible for certifying the machines and to the pubilc about problems with the machines. She failed to dislose her knowledge of problems for a couple months even after being asked specifically about problems.

Her excuse is priceless:

Hood, whose office is responsible for certifying election machinery and software, demanded copies of any documents related to the flaw.

On May 18, Kaplan responded to Hood, explaining that she "must constantly strike a delicate balance between raising valid concerns, such as the ones in question regarding the audit trial mentioned in your letter, and not necessarily alarming the public."

I think she meant to say "unnecessarily." That's a beautiful freudian slip.
