Bush plan eyes cuts for schools, veterans
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Bush administration has told officials who oversee federal education, domestic security, veterans and other programs to prepare preliminary 2006 budgets that would cut spending after the presidential election, according to White House documents.

2. why would anyone vote for this?
He puts out threats and says he's the only one who can fight terror, but cuts homeland security. He says he's for the kids, the people and the armed services and cuts their services. There are no words to describe him.

Homeland Security, touted by Bush as a top priority, would face $1 billion in cuts starting in fiscal year 2006. Its budget that year would be about $29.6 billion. Overall, the administration would cut the budgets of more than eleven agencies.
