F.B.I. Issues and Retracts Urgent Terrorism Bulletin (NYT)
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/29/politics/29terror.html

WASHINGTON, May 28 - The F.B.I. issued an urgent bulletin to several cities on Friday that warned of the prospect of an imminent terrorist attack but retracted the alert hours later, after the intelligence proved unfounded, officials said.

The alert went to law enforcement officials in two or three cities to warn of intelligence that indicated the prospect of an attack in the next 24 hours, officials said. Officials would not give the names of the cities.

A federal official in New York City, when asked about the warning, said he was unaware of the city's having received any such notification.

A law enforcement official at another city, who insisted that he and the city not be named, said authorities there had received a call late in the day from the Federal Bureau of Investigation alerting them to the possibility of an "imminent" attack there. Later, however, the FBI called to withdraw the warning.

The official, citing recent questions about the credibility of the terrorist intelligence from the bureau, said, "It's getting harder and harder to defend them."

2. I think the DU could set up a better security system for America with only
$10 Million Dollars annual budget compared to $100 Trillion Dollars annual budget the Bush Crime Family burns through.

3. Well how convenient!
Will that mistake be plastered all over the news nonstop this Memorial Day weekend while the WW2 soldiers celebrate their new memorial?

It's like the WH releasing a 2 line paragraph re: the concerns of prisoner abuse late on a Friday afternoon that was lost in the press.

7. What? they cancelled the obligatory "We're leaving now, be back Monday....
...unless the shit hits the fan, and don't say we didn't warn you because that's what we're doing now before we go home..."

That shit was SO fucking transparent!

8. just a "reminder"
that terralerts are manipulated by incompetent and politically motivated "morans"

Press briefing yesterday, McClellan was asked about the terralert issued by ashcroft/mueller, Ridges's conspicuous absence and the talk about a conflicts between them

McClellan said that ashcroft and ridge regularly meet with the pResident to discuss terra-concerns...

sooooooooo--if they regularly meet -- why didn't Ridge know about ashcroft's terra-lert, and why did bush* ask them if they were working on the same page?

9. Consider this odd group of facts about the culture of the FBI-under Hoover
the largest group of agents that filled key supervisory positions were LDS, known as "the Mormon Mafia". Hoover felt that Mormons were less likely to be corrupted/bribed.

The LDS had a project involving the census of all human beings, or at least the genelogical info on all human beings, located in a cave near Salt Lake City.:tinfoilhat:

Now we have the Baptist RW in favor in DoJ. Sheesh.

The FBI is law enforcement and has had it's hands tied from prosecution of horrific crimes because of the abuse of the national security classification system by criminals and criminal cults.

The FBI prosecutes Nazis that the CIA "recruited".

The FBI will prosecute mercenaries for their crimes.
