Soldiers thank state museum for Kool Valentine present
HASTINGS, Neb. (AP) - A number of soldiers serving in Iraq have written to the Hastings Museum of Natural and Cultural History to thank the people who made possible the shipment of fixings for more than 3,000 gallons of Kool-Aid to U.S. troops in Iraq.
The powder that makes the drink was sent in February as a Valentine's Day gift. The museum organized the Kool-Aid drive with help from civic organizations and schools across the state.
Many of the thank-you notes said the Kool-Aid was shared with Iraqi children.
"To get such a positive reaction from the servicemen and women who received it. . . . We accomplished our goal to lighten their day a little," said Sue Uerling, the museum's marketing director.
Edwin Perkins of Hastings invented Kool-Aid 76 years ago.

Leave it up to Cheney & Bush and it would be grape kool aid.
