Worm Cloaks Itself As Potter Game To Spread

The opening of a popular movie Friday is being used to revive a computer virus that appeared earlier this year.

The BBC -- along with other online news sources -- reports that the Netsky.P virus has been spreading after being disguised as a game related to Friday's release of the movie "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."

Antivirus firm Sophos said that thousands of copies of the virus have appeared in recent days as people try to open a file whose name usually starts with "Harry Potter."

Netsky first appeared in February, and then spawned several variants. It only affects Windows computers, and causes damage by clogging e-mail systems.
