1. Thank goodness!

I couldn't see what Biden would add to this race, no matter how hard I tried.

6. How about some experience
In foreign policy and national security? No one else in the current Dem field comes close to Biden in this respect, except maybe Kerry. Biden can also talk convincingly on a number of complex subjects without having to periodically apologize.

4. Generalissimo Franco still dead. Joe's loss.
Biden would have made him look almost good.

8. No skin off my nose.
I would certainly support Biden if he were to be the nominee because '04 is all about getting rid of Bushco.

But I am not sorry that he is out of the race. Ever since the Anita Hill-Clarence Thomas hearings, Biden has been one of my least favorite Dems.

10. I bet he wants to build up seniority in the Senate
He's quite young (only 61) and he's already the fifth highest ranking senator on our side of the aisle (after Byrd, Kennedy, Inouye, and Hollings). With all of them likely to retire within the next decade, he could become President Pro Tempore.
